SVAF and The Bridge Art School FAPD Gallery Residence 2026

NOW SVAF and The Bridge Art School FAPD Gallery Residence 2026 March 23- 28

The FAPD residency where the gallery is turned into an exploratory studio space for some of the 48 artists from the Fine Art Practice Development Programme 2025/6 course in association with The Bridge Art School and SVAF

The artists are invited into this collegiate art school environment to work on their separate projects responding to this year’s fluid title IMMEDIACY towards their FAPD gallery exhibition in June.

Different artists everyday experiment with new work and techniques. There were explorations of how to present work in a gallery setting. There was the opportunity to get to know each other

better. Some found new solutions to work and ideas from multiple interactions with both their SVAF peer group and the visiting public.

Thank you to Roger Lee who gave his time to help artists photograph their work.

Drop in and say hello to the artists

Different artists everyday. Artists present 10-4 today and Wednesday. Closed to the public on Thursday. Open Friday closes Saturday 29 March at 4pm

Skill share day 2026

The highlight of the week is the ‘Skill Share” day, convened by course leader Sam Herbert.

It is a fun enthusiastic day for learning new skills and media plus all four FAPD groups being together, so for the first time faces and names are matched.

In the morning Nicole Morrigan demonstrated the Egg Tempera technique and then in the afternoon we were privileged to have the great painter Joe Packer visit to talk about his practice.

Thanks to Joe for his generosity in sharing his painting process and methods with us, it was a compelling afternoon.

Last year we had positive feedback from all the artists who experimented with new work and techniques. Got to know each other better, explored presentation of work in a gallery setting, found new solutions to work and ideas from multiple interactions with both their SVAF peer group and the visiting public.
