Art Textiles: Made in Britain are a group of textile artists from around the UK. Every couple of years they hold a themed exhibition which tours the country. Their new show: “Flight” is starting its tour at the Kaleidoscope Art Gallery.
Eleven members of the group are responding to the theme of Flight in many different ways, considering mythical winged beasts, murmurating of birds, propelling dandelion seeds, airline travel and more. Artists are using a variety of techniques and materials, including felting, machine and hand embroidery, quilting and mixed media.

Art Textiles: Made in Britain aim is to promote British art textiles and to ensure their future. To introduce them to new audiences and to continually stretch the boundaries with new, vibrant work, both as individuals and as a group.
Art Textiles: Made in Britain was the idea of Hilary Beattie, who started the group in 2013.
