Jane Cordery describes herself as a multi-media artist who is interested in human frailty and who works in drawing, painting and sculpture; she often uses repetitive processes to achieve her artistic outcomes. Initially reading History at Reading University she studied her Fine Art Degree as a mature student Under Kent University. Much of her work reflects her interest in the past, often paralleling events from today with occurrences from the past.

Sue Evans also studied Fine Art as a mature student. On graduation she became a founder member of SVAF and subsequently gained her MFA at West Dean. Sue experiments with and investigates the qualities of cloth, usually repurposed fabric, by layering, fraying, weaving and distressing to make surfaces on which to stitch. Images seek to provoke t whether they are forming, disintegrating, renewing or decaying.

Jane and Sue see their work as synonymous while retaining their own distinctive interpretations and styles. Both are currently undertaking the FAPD run by Sam Herbert in conjunction with the SVAF at The Bridge Art School
UNTIE UNITE Workshop
With Sue Evans and Jane Cordery
Saturday 8 November 10:30 – 12:30

Fun seasonal Art Workshop for all agesA fun workshop for both adults and children (children under 10 to be accompanied by an adult) to make glass (or plastic) baubles, tea-lights and vase gifts/mementos.
Using a variety of materials including yarn, coloured pens, stick on decor, learn how to ‘finger knit’ and make a variety of patterns using line, form, squiggles and dots. Put lights or material/lights inside to make your baubles/tealights colourful or glow and take your resulting masterpieces home as gifts or mementos. No seriousness, just fun and laughter!
